JOC Files

JOC Approval files, in line with SASREA Act.

What is a JOC File?

JOC files are in place to make sure that all events held are safe, and that the event organizers comply with all the By-Laws and Regulations of the City.

It is a legal requirement for all Events with 2000 or more participants/spectators/audience to have event plans,  which is submitted by the Event Organisers to the National Commissioner of SAPS, for Risk Grading purposes.

What does a JOC file contain

  • Security Plan
  • Medical Plan
  • Risk Assessment
  • Management Plan
  • Application to SAPS for the Event Risk categorization
  • Presentations to City Councils JOC for event clearance
  • The venues emergency and evacuation procedures
  • Proof of public liability insurance from all parties
  • Layout approval from the local Emergency Management Services

What Will Emergency Care Do

Emergency Care will prepare, submit and perform all the required documentation and steps with the authorities in respect of local council by-laws, the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its Regulations, National Building Codes, SASREA and all other disaster management requirements.

The JOC clearance is extremely beneficial to any event as it is a way of ensuring local council compliance in terms of fire regulations, waste management, crowd
control and emergency services.
